As part of that, we want to ensure that both existing and prospective clients know what we’re all about, from the working backgrounds of our senior management team to the merger that created our company nearly 20 years ago.

The History of Lansdowne Woodward
While the company Lansdowne Woodward did not exist until 2003, our story begins over 25 years previous in 1976, when John Ehrhart started trading as Lansdowne Insurance Brokers. Just a year later, Peter Woodward began operating at the head of his company, PD Woodward.
This meant that by the time the two companies came together in 2003 – a merger made possible by the two firms’ shared values on customer service and putting clients first – they had around 50 years of collective experience to draw from.
In 2005, Lansdowne Woodward settled in our new home in Ferndown, and have since focussed on steady growth, great staff acquisition and providing an exemplary service.
The Senior Management Team
That’s the story of how Lansdowne Woodward got to where we are today – and here are the people that make that happen on a daily basis.
As previously mentioned, we have focussed on savvy staff acquisition as part of our stable and long-term growth, and are extremely proud of the team we have today. Read on to meet Lansdowne Woodward.
Liam Wyatt – Business and Marketing
Liam joined the company from Lorica Insurance Brokers in 2018, where he launched and grew their Poole office prior to the company selling to PIB. He has over 18 years in the insurance industry, all working in and around Dorset. Liam also holds a Diploma in insurance, and is currently working towards his ACII. In his role at Lansdowne Woodward Liam heads up our new business and marketing.
Outside of work, Liam is a keen sportsman – coaching and playing for Lansdowne Woodward sponsored Bournemouth Bears basketball club. He has also impressively represented Bermuda playing rugby.
He has 2 young children, Chase and Riley, and a springer spaniel, Milo.
Stephen Ehrhart
Steve is one of the founding directors of Lansdowne Woodward, having been a partner in Lansdowne Insurance brokers prior to the formation of the limited company in 2003.
Steve is hugely experienced with an established career that spans over 27 years in the local insurance market. He holds the qualification of ACII as well as an Honours degree in Mathematics.
Outside of work, age has forced retirement in football – so now spends most of his time sailing, racing dinghies or just messing about in on or under the water.
Outnumbered at home by a wife and 2 teenage girls, he often finds himself in his gym!
Steve Martinez
Steve Martinez started life in the property insurance market back in 2001. He then moved into General/ Commercial Lines Insurance and spent 8 years with Coleman’s Insurance Brokers.
Steve has now been with Lansdowne Woodward for 10 years, and with his experience and know-how helping to grow the company profile into a well-established, independent insurance brokerage.
Outside of work, Steve is a keen angler and gym goer.
Stuart Beer
Stuart cut his teeth in the insurance industry working with farms and estates, becoming a specialist in equine and livestock risks. He then progressed to General/ Commercial Insurance where he has specialised for the past 15 years. Stuart has been with Lansdowne Woodward for seven years, and oversees the commercial department.
Outside of work, Stuart is still a keen footballer, although slowing up day by day to enjoy spending time with his grandchildren.
